1. Senior Research Fellows - 2 Posts (Gen)

Salary :- 

• Rs.14,000/- PM + HRA

Qualification:- 

• M.Sc. first class in Botany/Biotechnology with CSIR-UGC NET-LS and a minimum of 2 years research experience in the area of plant molecular biology/rDNA technology.

2. Junior Research Fellows - 7 Posts (Gen)

Salary :- 

• As per General Conditions

Qualification:-

• M.Sc. first class in Botany/ Biotechnology/Biochemistry/ Microbiology. NET qualified candidates will be given preference. The selected JRF will be allowed to register for Ph.D. 

General Conditions:-

The Discipline of Marine Biotechnology and Ecology of CSMCRI, Bhavnagar is actively engaged in multidisciplinary research in frontier areas of modern biology and biotechnology. Some of the ongoing/new research activities of the Discipline for which we wish to recruit 7 Junior Research Fellows and 2 Senior Research Fellows are:

• Cloning and characterization of stress-responsive genes, promoter isolation and development of transgenic crop plants
• Climate change and adaptation- coastal saline ecosystem
• Mapping of marine biodiversity (seaweeds and marine microbes) using molecular tools and techniques
• Genomics & metagenomics of marine microbes

Age: 

• Not more than 28 years (relaxation as per CSIR rules).

Fellowship – 

• For CSIR-UGC/DBT/ICMR-JRF: Rs.16,000/- PM + HRA; NET-LS: Rs.12,000/- PM + HRA; Non NET-JRF/LS Rs.12,000/- PM consolidated.
